Make Family Video – New Year's Resolutions Big Ten

  1. I bought that damn tripod and I am going to use it. I do not care how much you weigh or how I look dorky. And if I forget to use a tripod, at least I will make sure that the use of the image stabilizer on the camcorder. Okay? I promise ….
  2. I will charge my camcorder batteries before a family event. I'll never get stuck in the middle of the birthday party of a child without juice. And if your camcorder uses regular batteries, I'll be sure to bring new news.
  3. I'll edit my video. My computer has a video editing software on it that I will cut the bad parts and leave the subject my family and friends to take pictures of my feet because I forgot to turn the camcorder. I will edit out the parts. That I really am. I promise. Maybe even edit in a funny voice or legends …. I'm warning you now.
  4. This is coupled with the issue there. I think writing a lot of short two to three minutes of YouTube videos will work fine.
  5. I will learn to label the video films, video cards and tapes video correctly. Even those tiny digital video cassettes with no space at all to write what the tape in question. I'll come up with a plan or at least my children.
  6. Because – as with any team, no matter if it's a hard drive fails, it is a matter of time …
  7. I'll leave the camera on the mantle so the family can use it whenever necessary, instead of having to dig in the closet, find the batteries and I hope that all works before that special moment disappears forever.
  8. No more zoom. I learned my lesson. I will not zoom in and out and driving all crazy. I promise to physically move my camcorder more nearly all the faces in the foreground.
  9. No more silly comments while recording. I promise to never tell people to smile or act natural again. And I promise, no more chasing them boys in the house very early in the morning. Yes I think it's nice to see them in their pajamas but it can permanently damage – especially when insist on showing video clips to their potential dates. And do not go to your Facebook or MySpace pages.

Finally, I will let my friends and children operate the camcorder.

We do not want to see the videos family is ten years from now and say, "Where's Daddy? Does anyone remember what Dad appeared before chubby and all his hair fell out? "
