The biggest lie on Myspace: Tom is nothing but a scam!

Everyone assumes that MySpace is just a place to meet people who might never have otherwise known. It also establishes the assumption that this site was created by Tom Anderson, a nice young man who wanted to share his life with his friends and colleagues from other with the same interests. But this is not accurate at all. Tom has not created or MySpace this fairytale goal was naive.

The Awful Truth

What MySpace it really is, is a site focused marketing innocent suit a social network. Their real objective is the development of databases of email for advertising and promotion more than all we received (and hate) in our inboxes. In other words: Spam 2.0.
Last year, Hitwise said MySpace had "surpassed Yahoo! As the most visited domain on the Internet for U.S. Internet users, which means that millions of people had registered for the site from children to primary schools to large business owners. But it also means profits for a multi-million dollar corporation hidden group behind this phenomenon.

The executives of this fairy tale

Despite the lies that we've all heard about the origin of MySpace, many other individuals and companies involved in its creation. Tom Anderson is nothing more than a distraction. Executives involved also have an important history of mass marketing to scandals and investment bonds.
Three people specifically essential for the creation of MySpace: Chris DeWolfe, Brad Greenspan and Tom Anderson himself. DeWolfe was VP Sales and Marketing at Xdrive Technologies, Inc. a company that flourished during the dot-com bubble burst and disappeared with it. He was fired along with Anderson, and together they founded the new marketing company called ResponseBase email.
On September 9, 2002, eUniverse (whose president was Greenspan) ResponseBase bought. And that's how they met.
Another association was involved in financing this acquisition: TTMM, LP, consisting of Andrew Wiederhorn and Tiffany. Andrew DeWolfe knew from high school and had been business associates in the late 90s. In late 2002, DeWolfe joined his friend again company, Fog Cutter Capital Group, and also by that time, Andrew Wiederhorn was under investigation for felony charges. Two years later, was to serve 13 months in prison, but, surprisingly, the company has to pay her $ 350,000 annual salary.

A Little History of MySpace

In some way, DeWolfe received an invitation to join Friendster. Again he sent it to Greenspan, Anderson and other employees eUniverse. Once she recognized the potential this social network, created their own version of the same within 10 days, and was baptized as MySpace.

Finally, Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation bought MySpace, DeWolfe few months later, abandoned Fog Cutter Capital Group.
Leaving aside the antics and fraud, MySpace has revolutionized social interaction, where everyone can advertise as they wish, paying only the price to see unsolicited advertisements. Only fate will tell if that will lead.
